FHTU will be celebrating Colorado's Public Lands Day with a local outing to the upper Roaring Fork River, near Aspen this Saturday, May 20th from 10am - 2pm. We'll meet at the Difficult Campground Day Use Area for coffee and donuts before hitting the water. This outing is free and open to all members and non-members alike. So bring your family and friends and your own fishing gear. Feel free to come and go as you please, but you may want to pack a lunch in case the fishing is good.
Come fish with your fellow public landowners and FHTU members and celebrate our state's amazing public lands and waters along one of our favorite freestone rivers. Colorado Trout Unlimited will be sending a message to our Congressional delegation to keep public lands in public hands by compiling a photo campaign of fish caught on public land across the State of Colorado with the following hashtags: #CoPublicLandsDay #PublicLandsProud.
Getting There:
Take Highway 82 for 5 miles southeast of Aspen, Colorado. Look for USFS Difficult Campground sign on the right, past Mile Marker 45. Park in the day use parking lot. Head downstream along the trail towards the picnic benches.
